adidas Unveils Women’s Superstar With Striking Platform Redesign
adidas is expanding its women’s footwear lineup with a bold new twist on one of its most iconic silhouettes: the Superstar. The updated model, known as the Superstar Bold, arrives as the latest addition to the brand’s growing series of women’s exclusives that feature elevated and reimagined soles.
Unlike other recent platform adaptations within adidas’ “Bold” collection – seen on models such as the Forum, Gazelle and Court – the Superstar Bold doesn’t rely on simply thickening the sole. Instead, it introduces an entirely new segmented platform unit that attaches to the classic cup sole. The sculpted, wavy design extends through the signature shell toe and is built with TPU components for a modern, high-impact look.

To match the dramatic new base, the upper takes on a touch of shimmer, adding sparkling details to the familiar white-and-black colour scheme. The result is a blend of old-school heritage and contemporary, fashion-forward styling.
The release aligns with the industry-wide push toward women-focused sneaker innovation, a trend that has seen brands move beyond minor tweaks to embrace more daring, boundary-pushing designs. While some may see the Superstar Bold as part of the broader wave of platform models – such as the Jordan 1 “Triple Stack” – it still marks a notable shift for a silhouette as historically traditional as the Superstar.
The adidas Superstar Bold is expected to launch on adidas.com in the coming weeks. Pricing has not yet been revealed, though it is likely to sit slightly above the standard Superstar retail range.
