Adekunle Gold Teases ‘Eja Nla 2026’
Nigerian Afrobeats star Adekunle Gold has stirred excitement online after posting a brief but cryptic message hinting at major plans for 2026.
On Tuesday, the singer shared the phrase “EJA NLA 2026” across his social media platforms. Translated from Yoruba, the words mean “Big Fish” – a term that has increasingly become associated with his artistic identity over the past year.
The post immediately triggered speculation among fans, popularly known as the Fuji Tribe, with many interpreting it as a signal of a new project or a continuation of his 2025 album, Fuji. While Adekunle Gold did not provide further details, the inclusion of a specific year has fueled expectations of a structured rollout that could include new music, a tour, or other creative ventures.
The teaser follows a landmark year for the singer. In December 2025, he headlined a solo concert at the newly renovated National Theatre – now known as the Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and Creative Arts – becoming one of the first artists to stage a major standalone show at the venue after its reopening.
The sold-out performance featured a 55-piece MUSON Orchestra alongside his live band, The 79th Element, blending orchestral arrangements with highlife and Fuji influences. The concert also included appearances from prominent Nigerian artists such as Olamide, Davido, Yinka Ayefele and Adewale Ayuba.
Industry observers say the latest message suggests the singer is building momentum toward another defining phase in his career. For now, however, fans are left decoding three words that may signal Adekunle Gold’s next big move.
