Basketmouth’s Ex-Wife Threatens Legal Action Over Paternity Fraud Rumours
Elsie Okpocha, the former wife of comedian Basketmouth, has issued a strong warning to individuals and blogs გავრცელing claims that paternity fraud led to the breakdown of their marriage.
The couple, who got married in 2010, announced their separation in December 2022, describing the decision at the time as mutual after careful consideration.
However, fresh controversy emerged recently after online reports alleged that the comedian had linked their divorce to DNA results involving their first child. The claims quickly gained traction across social media platforms.
In response, Okpocha, through her legal representatives, firmly denied the allegations, describing them as false and damaging. She warned that anyone responsible for spreading such claims risks legal consequences, including lawsuits for defamation and invasion of privacy.
Her legal team also raised concerns about the potential emotional impact of the rumours on their child, noting that such narratives could expose him to bullying both online and offline.
The statement emphasised that the claims are baseless and urged the public to refrain from sharing or amplifying unverified information about the family.
