Davido Says He Would Love to Collaborate With Rihanna
Nigerian Afrobeats star Davido has expressed his interest in working with global pop icon Rihanna, saying he believes the pair would create exceptional music together.
The singer shared his thoughts during a livestream on Wednesday evening with popular Nigerian streamer and musician Carter Efe. The session, which lasted about three hours, was hosted on the Twitch platform.
When asked by Carter Efe which artistes he would like to feature on future projects, Davido named Rihanna and American singer Kehlani among his top choices.
“I would definitely love to do a song with Rihanna, Kehlani as well. I think me and Rihanna would make some dope music,” he said. Davido also mentioned fellow Nigerian artistes Tems, Ayra Starr and Morravey as collaborators he would like to work with.
His comments come shortly after an artificial intelligence-generated song that combined vocals resembling both Davido and Rihanna circulated widely online, sparking conversations among fans about a potential real-life collaboration.
Davido remains one of Africa’s most internationally recognised music stars, while Rihanna has been largely absent from new music releases in recent years, making any potential collaboration a highly anticipated prospect among fans.
