Portable Hits Back at Bella Shmurda, Labels Him a ‘Failure’ Over Collaboration Snub
Nigerian street-hop singer Portable has lashed out at fellow artiste Bella Shmurda, following the latter’s recent comments about refusing a potential collaboration with him.
Bella Shmurda, in an interview on the Curiosity Made Me Ask podcast with Isbae U, had said he didn’t see a musical connection with Portable and preferred to avoid any form of conflict.
“I just don’t see the connection in the music. I don’t want wahala, I want peace,” Bella said during the interview.
The comment sparked a fiery response from Portable, who took to Instagram to address the issue in a video. The singer, known for his brash style and unfiltered commentary, criticised Bella for what he described as a lack of relevance and accused him of trying to ride on his fame.
“Anytime you wan do interview, don’t mention my name again,” Portable said. “You can’t feature me? I’ve been to America, London. No be who first blow o, na who dey blow dey go.”
Taking the attack further, Portable called Bella a “failure” and said he had no interest in associating with artists who, in his view, were no longer successful.
“Which connection wan join me and you? You are a failure. I no dey roll or do music with failures,” he added.
The outburst is the latest in a series of controversies involving Portable, who has made headlines repeatedly for his confrontational approach and clashes with other celebrities in the industry.
As of now, Bella Shmurda has not issued a response to Portable’s remarks.
