Nollywood Veteran Tom Njeamanze Appeals for Financial Support Amid Cancer Battle

Veteran Nollywood actor Tom Njeamanze has publicly appealed for financial assistance as he battles prostate cancer and prepares for urgent surgery.

The plea became public on Tuesday through a viral video that has been widely shared across social media platforms. In the footage, Njemanze, currently receiving medical care, humbly calls on Nigerians and well-wishers for support to help fund his treatment.

Nigerian filmmaker Stanley Ontop also took to Instagram to amplify the appeal, confirming the actor’s diagnosis and the urgent need for surgery. “Hello guys, one of our Nollywood legends is sick and needs urgent surgery,” he wrote. “Sir Tom Njeamanze has been diagnosed with prostate cancer, and he needs your support. Nothing is too small. Help our legend live again.”

Njeamanze is best known for his roles in classic Nollywood films such as Issakaba, Tokunboh, Pounds and Dollars, Osuofia in London, Igbotic Love, Brain Box, and Atosa. His performances have earned him a lasting legacy in Nigeria’s film industry, especially in the early 2000s era of home video success.

His appeal comes just months after another Nollywood veteran, John Amaefule, sought similar support as he battles both partial stroke and cancer – highlighting the growing concern over healthcare access and support for aging actors in Nigeria’s entertainment industry.

Fans and industry colleagues have since taken to social media to express solidarity and encourage donations to support Njeamanze’s recovery.
