Forbes Names Beyoncé a Billionaire, Placing Her Among Music’s Wealthiest Figures

Beyoncé has officially entered billionaire territory, according to Forbes, becoming the fifth musician to achieve a 10-figure fortune.

The US business magazine says the global superstar now joins an exclusive circle that includes Taylor Swift, Rihanna, Bruce Springsteen and her husband, Jay-Z, who Forbes estimates is worth $2.5bn (£1.85bn).

Earlier this month, Forbes had valued Beyoncé’s net worth at about $800m (£593m), suggesting she was on the brink of crossing the milestone after a run of major commercial successes. That projection has now been realised following continued revenue from touring, music, film and brand partnerships.

A significant boost came from her 2023 Renaissance World Tour, which grossed close to $600m worldwide. The tour cemented her status as one of the most commercially powerful artists of her generation, alongside Swift.

Beyoncé also released a concert film tied to the tour, marking her first solo tour in seven years. Distributed directly through a deal with AMC cinemas, the film generated $44m (£33m) globally, with Forbes estimating the singer retained nearly half of that total.

Her momentum continued in 2024 with the release of Cowboy Carter, an album that explored and celebrated the Black origins of country music. The project was widely praised by critics and went on to win Album of the Year at the Grammy Awards – a first for Beyoncé, despite multiple previous nominations in the category.

Forbes estimates the accompanying Cowboy Carter tour brought in more than $400m in ticket sales, with an additional $50m generated from merchandise. The shows featured appearances from Jay-Z, two of the couple’s three children and Beyoncé’s former Destiny’s Child bandmates.

While the tour broke attendance records at venues such as London’s Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and Paris’s Stade de France, it also faced pockets of slower ticket sales, prompting some promoters to cut prices. Despite this, the highest-priced ticket for a UK concert in 2025 belonged to Beyoncé, selling for £950, with entry-level tickets priced at £71.

Beyond touring and music, Forbes also points to lucrative media and advertising deals. A special halftime performance during Netflix’s first Christmas Day NFL game reportedly earned Beyoncé around $50m, alongside an estimated $10m from a series of Levi’s commercials.

Meanwhile, Bloomberg’s Billionaires Index has previously listed Selena Gomez as a billionaire, valuing her at $1.3bn (£962m) in 2024. Forbes, however, disputes that assessment, placing Gomez’s net worth closer to $700m (£518m).

With her latest recognition, Beyoncé further solidifies her position not only as a cultural icon, but as one of the most financially successful figures in global entertainment.
