Nicki Minaj Files Lawsuit Against Nigerian Influencer
American rapper Nicki Minaj has filed a lawsuit against Nigerian social media influencer Dr Penking over alleged cyberbullying and copyright infringement.
The dispute began after the influencer shared an old video of the rapper on the social media platform X on Saturday. In the post, he reportedly captioned the clip with a remark suggesting that the artist had grown old and should retire.
The comment quickly drew a response from Minaj, who questioned whether the influencer had obtained permission to share the video, which she said was recorded years ago.
In her reaction, the rapper accused him of using the content to harass her online and warned that legal action had been taken.
“Do you have permission to use this video that I filmed years ago to harass me on this or any platform? You’ve just been added to the suit,” she wrote.
The lawsuit marks the latest example of tensions between celebrities and social media users over the use of personal content online, particularly when such material is used in ways that the original creator considers harmful or defamatory.
As of the time of reporting, further details about the legal proceedings have not been publicly disclosed.
