Amber Heard Insists Social Media Wasn’t ‘Fair’ to Her During Her Defamation Trial Against Johnny Depp

Hollywood actress, Amber Heard has decried the harsh treatment she received during her high-profile defamation trial against her former husband, Johnny Depp describing it as ‘unfair.’

In an an interview with NBC News’ Savannah Guthrie, Heard maintained that the trial was not fair.

“You cannot tell me that you think that this has been fair… Even somebody who is sure I’m deserving of all this hate and vitriol, even if you think that I’m lying, you still couldn’t tell me — look me in the eye and tell me — that you think on social media there’s been a fair representation.”

During the trial, Depp enjoyed overwhelming support from TikTokers and social media users. Depp had sued Heard for defamation over a Washington Post op-ed that claimed she was a victim of domestic abuse. Heard had filed a countersuit where she equally accused him of defamation after Depp’s representative described the allegations as a “hoax.”

Throughout the trial, jurors were told to stay off social media, but Heard’s legal team insisted that the jury must have been influenced in some way by viral posts on social media that favored Depp.
