Why I Don’t Use My Husband for Content Creation – Kiekie
Nigerian actress and content creator Kiekie has opened up about her decision to keep her husband out of her online content, stressing the importance of boundaries between personal life and professional branding.
Speaking at The Creative Blueprint 2.0, Kiekie said she has deliberately separated her private life from her public persona as a comic entertainer.
She explained that while her brand focuses on comedy, acting and hosting, not every aspect of her personal life fits into that narrative. According to her, her husband, Tunji Ilori, is not featured in her skits because he does not align with the comedic style of her content.
However, the actress noted that her daughter occasionally appears in her videos because of her natural on-camera presence. She added that even then, she maintains limits, choosing to create content with her only during school breaks.
Kiekie also cautioned fellow creators against excessive sharing, warning that overusing viral moments or constantly involving family members can become overwhelming for audiences.
Her comments highlight ongoing conversations within the digital content space about privacy, brand identity and the balance between authenticity and oversharing.
