Xbox Exec Hails Forza Horizon 6 as a “Fresh” Leap for the Franchise

Microsoft is building serious momentum ahead of its 2026 gaming lineup, and according to Xbox leadership, Forza Horizon 6 could be one of its biggest hits yet.

Speaking on the Official Xbox Podcast, Xbox Chief Content Officer Matt Booty described the upcoming racing title as more than just a sequel, saying it “really feels like a whole new, fresh game.”

Developed by Playground Games in collaboration with Turn 10 Studios, the game builds on the success of Forza Horizon 5, which became a global hit across multiple platforms.

Set in Japan, the new instalment promises cutting-edge visuals, immersive environments, and a strong focus on social gameplay – making it easier for players to jump in and connect with others.

Booty highlighted the game’s blend of stunning graphics, music, and setting as something that recreates the excitement of classic racing titles, while also pushing the boundaries of what modern games can offer.

Beyond visuals, early previews have praised the game’s driving mechanics, simulation systems, and overall experience, with some calling it one of the most visually impressive racing games ever built.

With a release date set for May 19 on Xbox Series X|S and PC, the game will also be available via Xbox Game Pass, positioning it to reach a wide audience from day one.

As competition in gaming continues to mirror industries like film and music – where success is often driven by standout hits – Forza Horizon 6 is shaping up to be a major contender in 2026’s blockbuster lineup.
