Khaby Lame Earns Spot on Forbes’ 2026 Top Creators List Following Landmark Business Deal
Senegal-born digital sensation Khaby Lame has secured a place on Forbes’ 2026 Top 50 Creators list, further cementing his status as one of the world’s most influential online personalities just months after his brand became the centre of a headline-making $975 million business deal.
Lame ranked 15th on Forbes’ annual list, which evaluates creators based on earnings, audience size, engagement, and overall business influence. According to Forbes, he generated an estimated $9.9 million in creator earnings as of June 23, 2026, while commanding a combined audience of 252.1 million followers across social media platforms and maintaining an average engagement rate of 4.72 percent.
Although he built his career in Italy, Lame was born in Dakar, Senegal, making him one of Africa’s most prominent representatives in the rapidly expanding global creator economy. His inclusion on the list highlights the growing international impact of African-born digital talent, despite such creators remaining relatively underrepresented in major global rankings.
Lame continues to hold the title of the most-followed creator on TikTok, staying ahead of fellow internet personalities such as Charli D’Amelio and MrBeast.
He rose to global fame through his signature silent comedy videos, which humorously simplify overly complicated online “life hacks.” The universal appeal of his content allowed him to overcome language barriers and attract partnerships with major global brands, including Hugo Boss, Binance, and several Hollywood studios.
$975 Million Deal Expanded His Business Empire
Beyond content creation, Lame’s business interests took a major leap earlier this year when Hong Kong-based Rich Sparkle Holdings announced plans to acquire Step Distinctive Limited, the company associated with his commercial rights, in a deal valued at $975 million.
Under the proposed agreement, Lame would receive 75 million ordinary shares, making him the controlling shareholder of the enlarged company. In return, Rich Sparkle would gain exclusive worldwide rights to manage his brand, merchandise, and e-commerce operations for three years.
The deal also covers rights to Lame’s Face ID, Voice ID, and signature gestures, with the company planning to develop an AI-powered digital version of the creator for localized content production and live-stream shopping initiatives.
While reports indicate the transaction remains subject to regulatory approvals and other completion requirements, it has already attracted significant attention within both the technology and investment sectors.
Following the announcement, Rich Sparkle’s share price briefly surged to $150, pushing its market valuation to approximately $1.8 billion, before later falling to $8.52, reducing the company’s value to around $124 million.
A Milestone for Africa’s Creator Economy
Lame’s latest achievement extends beyond personal success, reflecting the increasing commercial value of digital creators and the opportunities emerging for African talent on the global stage.
With one of the world’s youngest and most digitally connected populations, Africa continues to produce creators capable of building worldwide audiences. Lame’s journey—from working in a factory to becoming one of the internet’s biggest personalities – demonstrates how social media influence can evolve into a global business built on intellectual property, equity ownership, and long-term commercial partnerships rather than advertising revenue alone.
