Guazi Expands Inspection-Backed Used Car Sourcing Services for Nigerian Buyers

Chinese used car e-commerce platform Guazi has expanded its international vehicle sourcing services, offering buyers and dealers in Nigeria and other selected overseas markets access to inspection-backed used vehicles from China.

The company said the expansion targets customers across Africa, the Middle East, Central Asia and Eastern Europe, where demand for imported used vehicles continues to grow.

Founded in 2015, Guazi operates a digital marketplace for used vehicles, providing online listings, vehicle inspections, pricing support and buyer matching services. According to the company, it has facilitated more than three million used vehicle transactions, inspected over 30 million vehicles and established operations across more than 200 cities in China.

As part of its overseas strategy, Guazi is combining its online platform with local partnerships and operational teams to simplify cross-border vehicle sourcing.

The company said each vehicle listed on its platform undergoes a multi-point inspection, with the results documented in a detailed condition report. Buyers can also review photographs, videos and inspection records remotely before making purchasing decisions.

Guazi also uses artificial intelligence and data analytics to support vehicle matching, price comparisons and quality assessments, including battery health checks for electric and hybrid vehicles.

The company’s inventory includes conventional petrol-powered vehicles as well as electric and hybrid models, allowing buyers to select vehicles based on local market demand.

To strengthen its international presence, Guazi has established partnerships in several markets while also investing in directly operated local teams. In Georgia, the company works with its designated service partner, AIG, to provide customer support and vehicle consultation. In Ghana, Guazi has established a local team to assist buyers with vehicle selection and cross-border sourcing.

The company said overseas customers, including dealers, fleet operators, rental companies and importers, can browse vehicle listings online, examine inspection reports, communicate with support teams through chat or video calls and complete purchases using either an auction system or fixed free-on-board (FOB) pricing.

Under the auction model, buyers bid on available vehicles, while the fixed FOB option provides a predetermined purchase price covering costs up to the point of shipment from China. Buyers remain responsible for shipping, customs duties, taxes and other destination-related expenses, although Guazi said its overseas teams and local partners assist with documentation, logistics coordination and customs processes where available.

According to the company, the platform offers overseas buyers online access to used vehicle listings, structured inspection reports, pricing references, consultation services and support for logistics and documentation throughout the sourcing process.

Guazi said its expansion strategy is focused on improving transparency and buyer confidence through detailed vehicle information and stronger local support networks.

Company spokesperson Li Yang said the next phase of the expansion would focus on building additional local partnerships and entering more international markets.

“As Guazi expands across overseas markets, the company’s goal remains unchanged: to enable every family to own a better car,” Yang said.
