Air Peace Grounds Lagos-London Flight Following Technical Fault Detection

Air Peace has temporarily halted its Lagos to London Gatwick service after a technical issue was discovered on the aircraft during routine safety checks.

The airline disclosed the development in a statement issued on Saturday, explaining that the fault was identified shortly after passengers had boarded the plane.

According to the carrier, the aircraft was immediately removed from operation to allow engineers address the issue in line with standard aviation safety procedures.

Air Peace stated that all passengers were safely disembarked while technical teams began working on the aircraft.

The airline stressed that passenger safety remains its highest priority, noting that the decision to suspend the flight was taken as a precautionary measure.

It acknowledged the inconvenience caused to travellers but maintained that immediate action was necessary to ensure the safety of both passengers and crew members.

The company also confirmed that affected passengers received updates regarding the delay and were provided with hotel accommodation and other support services.

To minimise disruption to travel plans, Air Peace said a replacement aircraft would be deployed from London to operate the delayed service.

The airline thanked passengers for their patience and understanding during the disruption while reaffirming its commitment to maintaining safe and reliable flight operations.
