Beyonce Initially Rejected Daughter Blue Ivy Carter’s Request to Dance on The Renaissance Tour

Tina Knowles, the grandmother of 11-year-old Blue Ivy Carter, recently revealed that the young talent was initially only supposed to perform once during her mother Beyoncé’s ‘Renaissance Tour’. Blue Ivy, the daughter of music icons Beyoncé and Jay-Z, expressed her desire to dance on stage during the global tour, but her initial request was met with a gentle refusal from Beyoncé.

Speaking on ‘Sherri’, Tina Knowles shared, “I think she just loves to dance, and she was watching the girls rehearse, and she asked, she said, ‘I think I’m ready to go on stage,’ and her mom said, ‘No, no, I don’t think so Blue.’”

However, after reconsidering, Beyoncé decided to give Blue Ivy an opportunity, setting a condition that she had to work hard and prove herself for one performance. The plan was for her to perform only once during the tour.

Despite the initial plan, Blue Ivy’s stage debut was a huge success, and she became a regular part of her mother’s performances. According to Tina Knowles, the experience was magical for Blue Ivy, and her confidence grew immensely with each performance.

Beyoncé’s former Destiny’s Child bandmate, Kelly Rowland, praised Blue Ivy for showcasing a strong work ethic akin to her parents. Kelly lauded the young talent for her hard work, acknowledging that the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree, citing Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s strong work ethics, and how Blue Ivy witnessed and absorbed those values firsthand.
