Bolanle Austen-Peters’ “House of Ga’a” Debuts on Netflix July 26th
Netflix is set to transport viewers to 18th-century Nigeria with the premiere of Bolanle Austen-Peters’ biopic, “House of Ga’a,” on July 26th. The film chronicles the tumultuous rise and fall of Bashorun Ga’a, a formidable kingmaker who used deceit and voodoo to maintain power, only to be ultimately betrayed by his own blood.
The film boasts a star-studded cast, including Femi Branch, Mike Afolarin, Funke Akindele, Toyin Abraham, Ibrahim Chatta, Dele Odule, Bimbo Manuel, Lateef Adedimeji, Femi Adebayo, Gabriel Afolayan, Jide ‘JBlaze’ Oyegbile, Seun Akindele, Yemi Blaq, Adeniyi Johnson, Muyiwa Ademola, William Benson, Gbenga Titiloye, and Kunle Coker.
In addition to “House of Ga’a,” Netflix’s July lineup features several exciting new titles. “Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F” and “Elite: Season 8” kick off the month, followed by the return of “Vikings: Valhalla” with season 3 on the 11th. Action fans can look forward to the second season of “T・P BON” on the 17th, and the drama “Find Me Falling” premieres on the 19th.
Sports documentary enthusiasts can catch “SPRINT” on July 2nd and “Receiver” on the 10th. For family-friendly viewing, “The Dragon Prince: Season 6” returns on the 26th. Comedy lovers will enjoy Chad Daniels’ new stand-up special “Chad Daniels: Empty Nester” on the 16th, and the series “Lobola Man,” featuring Ace Ngubeni as a slick lobola negotiator, premieres on the 12th.
