Burna Boy, Diddy: Speed Darlington Granted Bail After Court Arraignment
Nigerian singer Darlington Okoye, popularly known as Speed Darlington, has been granted bail by an Abuja court following his arraignment by the Nigeria Police Force.
The singer’s lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, shared the news on social media platform X, stating, “Police finally arraigns Speed Darlington in court. Bail application moved and granted. We are trying to perfect same.”
Darlington’s legal troubles began after he accused Grammy-winning artist Burna Boy of having an inappropriate relationship with American music mogul Sean Combs, also known as Diddy. His detention prompted him to file a petition to Deputy Inspector General of Police Dasuki Galadanchi, challenging the legality of his continued incarceration.
Justice M.S. Liman had issued an order on December 23, 2024, directing the police to either charge Darlington within 48 hours or release him unconditionally. The recent arraignment and subsequent bail align with this directive.
Further details regarding the bail conditions remain undisclosed.
