Burna Boy Explains Why Nigerians Hate Him

Grammy-winning Nigerian artist Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, took to his X handle to address the apparent animosity directed toward him within the music industry.

In a Saturday post, Burna Boy shed light on why he believes he is perceived negatively, stating that he is “hated by inferiors for having no superiors.” The controversial singer accompanied this statement with a photo of himself.

This isn’t the first time Burna Boy has alluded to facing animosity, particularly from Nigerians.

In a track titled ‘Thank You’ from his recent album, ‘I Told Them,’ Burna Boy hinted at the lack of appreciation he receives despite making significant contributions to the country’s music scene.

The artist lamented that instead of Nigerians appreciating his invaluable musical contributions to the nation, they spread rumours that his mother was one of the dancers of the late Afrobeat pioneer, Fela Kuti, and that impotency might be the reason he doesn’t have a baby mama like most of his colleagues.
