Cassie and Diddy Reach Amicable Settlement in Sexual Assault Lawsuit

Cassie, the renowned singer, and Diddy, the music mogul, have reportedly settled their sexual assault lawsuit just one day after it became public knowledge.

As reported by the New York Post, the decision to resolve the matter amicably was reached a day after Cassie, whose real name is Casandra Ventura, filed the lawsuit in Manhattan federal court.

In a statement, Cassie expressed her decision to settle, saying, “I have decided to resolve this matter amicably on terms that I have some level of control. I want to thank my family, fans, and lawyers for their unwavering support.”

Diddy, also known as Sean Combs, shared his own statement, stating, “We have decided to resolve this matter amicably. I wish Cassie and her family all the best.”

The details of the settlement remain undisclosed.

In her initial lawsuit filed on Thursday (November 16), Cassie alleged a pattern of physical and emotional abuse throughout their approximately decade-long relationship. Shocking allegations included claims of Diddy physically assaulting her multiple times annually, providing her with excessive amounts of drugs, and coercing her into engaging in sexual activities with male prostitutes while he filmed and masturbated to the encounters.

The singer further claimed that in 2018, towards the end of their relationship, the 54-year-old record executive forced his way into her apartment and raped her despite her repeated objections.

Additional allegations included Diddy orchestrating a plan to destroy Kid Cudi’s car in 2012 upon discovering Cassie was dating the rapper. A representative for Cudi confirmed that one of his cars exploded in his driveway.

Cassie’s lawyer, Douglas Wigdor, revealed that before filing the lawsuit, Diddy “offered Ms. Ventura eight figures to silence her and prevent the filing of this lawsuit,” which she rejected.

Diddy, through his attorney Ben Brafman, vehemently denied all allegations, stating, “Mr. Combs vehemently denies these offensive and outrageous allegations.” The statement also claimed that Cassie had demanded $30 million over the past six months under the threat of writing a damaging book about their relationship, an offer unequivocally rejected as blatant blackmail.

The lawsuit, seeking unspecified damages, named Diddy and several of his associated companies as defendants.
