Dame Dash Expresses Willingness to Reconcile with Jay-Z Under Specific Conditions
Dame Dash, co-founder of Roc-a-fella Records alongside JAY-Z and Kareem “Biggs” Burke, has expressed his readiness to engage in a reconciliation conversation with his former partner, JAY-Z. In a recent interview on The CEO Show with Vibe Editor-in-Chief Datwon Thomas, Dash mentioned his willingness to discuss their differences but outlined certain conditions that must be met.
Dash conveyed that he would be open to talking with JAY-Z if the rap icon agrees to “talk about the people that didn’t make the money and try to help.” Although Dash did not explicitly name these individuals, the context of the conversation suggested they are former Roc-a-fella artists who may not have prospered as expected.
Moreover, Dash alluded to the presence of individuals around JAY-Z who he finds morally objectionable. He explained that certain aspects and people are contrary to his moral values, making it challenging for him to be involved. However, Dash suggested that a potential reconciliation could occur if JAY-Z is willing to separate from these elements and individuals that Dash finds incompatible with his moral standards. In such a scenario, Dash believes they could rebuild their connection as a family.
Dame Dash has previously used similar language regarding moral values when discussing his relationship with JAY-Z. In 2019, he posted an Instagram message in which he offered a backhanded apology to JAY-Z, indicating his willingness to move beyond differences based on varying morals and principles.
During the interview, Dash also recalled the most recent time he saw JAY-Z in person, which was at a concert in Los Angeles. Dash explained that his daughter, Ava, wanted to attend JAY-Z’s concert, and he contacted JAY-Z’s team for tickets. At the concert, Dash stated that JAY-Z treated him respectfully, and they engaged in a conversation, which Dash captured on tape.
The interview on The CEO Show delved into various aspects of Dash’s career, including his experiences working with Kanye West and prominent industry figures like Jimmy Iovine and L.A. Reid.
While Dash expressed his willingness to engage in a reconciliation conversation with JAY-Z, it remains to be seen whether these conditions will lead to a resolution of their long-standing differences.
