Davido Reunites with Daughter Imade Amid Custody Dispute
Nigerian music star Davido has reunited with his daughter, Imade Adeleke, amid an ongoing legal battle over custody with her mother, Sophia Momodu.
The singer, whose real name is David Adeleke, shared a photo of himself and Imade on social media on Wednesday night, captioning it “Best day of my life,” signaling an emotional moment following weeks of public and legal tension.
This comes after Davido filed a custody suit against Sophia at the Lagos State High Court in April 2024, alleging that she had repeatedly denied him access to their daughter.
In response, Sophia submitted a 102-paragraph counter-affidavit, accusing the singer of neglecting his parental responsibilities after she ended their intimate relationship.
As the legal tussle gained public attention, Sophia’s uncle, media personality Dele Momodu, revealed that the court had advised both parties to explore an out-of-court settlement through Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR).
While the legal proceedings continue, the recent reunion suggests a potential step toward reconciliation, at least between father and daughter. Neither Davido nor Sophia has issued an official statement about the status of the custody case since the reunion.
