Disney+ Announces Release Date for Star Wars: Ahsoka

The highly anticipated series “Star Wars: Ahsoka” is set to premiere on August 23. Serving as a spin-off from the popular show “The Mandalorian,” this sci-fi fantasy installment will be available exclusively on Disney+.

Taking place in the aftermath of the Empire’s downfall, “Star Wars: Ahsoka” follows the journey of former Jedi Knight Ahsoka Tano as she confronts a new threat emerging in the galaxy. The trailer teases Ahsoka’s concerns about Thrawn’s return as the heir to the Empire and her preparations for the worst, acknowledging the scarcity of remaining Jedi.

The star-studded cast includes Rosario Dawson reprising her role as Ahsoka, Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Sabine Wren, Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Hera Syndulla, Ray Stevenson as Baylan Skoll, Ivanna Sakhno as Shin Hati, Diana Lee Inosanto as Morgan Elsbeth, David Tennant as Huyang, Lars Mikkelsen as Grand Admiral Thrawn, and Eman Esfandi as Ezra Bridger.

Rosario Dawson shared her excitement about the character, highlighting Ahsoka’s fearlessness and martial prowess. She described how the character’s ambidexterity and unwavering determination resonated with her during intense physical training. As the training progressed, Dawson felt a sense of connection and ease with Ahsoka, solidifying her portrayal of the character.
