Drake’s New Track Features Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner, Taken Shots at Kanye West?
Drake is back with a new track titled “Search & Rescue,” and it features voice samples from two Kardashian family members, Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner. The 36-year-old rapper from Toronto, Canada, has used an excerpt from the family’s former series Keeping Up With the Kardashians, where Kim speaks to her mother about the end of her marriage to Kanye West.
As reported on Marca, the sampling has sparked speculation that Drake might be taking a jab at West, with whom he has had a feud over the years. However, the Canadian superstar has not confirmed any beef with West, who produced his 2010 hit “Find Your Love.”
Drake has been known to make references to Kim Kardashian in his music, even alluding to an affair between them in his 2021 song “Wants and Needs.” He famously repeats the line “Kiki, do you love me?” on his hit song “In My Feelings,” leading fans to point out that Kiki is a nickname Kim’s sisters sometimes use for her.
In response to Drake’s references to her family, Kim warned him to “never threaten” her family as she waded into West and Drake’s explosive feud. The two rappers reportedly settled their differences in 2021 when they joined forces for a benefit concert and posted a friendly photo together standing next to each other outside of Drake’s Toronto mansion.
Drake is Planning to Exit Music Industry
In February, Drake mentioned during an interview with rapper Lil Yachty that he was considering a “graceful exit” from the music industry, though he didn’t set any timetables. “I feel like a lot of people that I’ve watched as the years have gone on, it’s a really addictive competitive space. Oftentimes you’re addicted to the competition itself,” he said.
Despite Drake’s possible departure from the music industry, he has several other projects outside of it to work on, including film and television production. He serves as an executive producer on the hit show Euphoria and produced the Christian Bale movie Amsterdam, which came out last year.
He has a pair of projects currently in the works, including the movie Spiral, which stars Selena Gomez as a former influencer whose addiction to social media is causing her body to literally fall apart.
