EFCC Arrests TikTok Star Murja Ibrahim Kunya for Alleged Naira Abuse
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in Kano State has arrested popular TikTok influencer Murja Ibrahim Kunya over alleged Naira abuse, specifically for spraying money in public – an act prohibited under Nigerian law.
A source within the commission confirmed to Freedom Radio Kano that Kunya is currently in EFCC custody.
The anti-graft agency has been intensifying its crackdown on individuals who violate the country’s currency regulations by spraying or mutilating the Naira at social events such as parties and celebrations.
Kunya is not the only social media personality to face such charges recently. The EFCC also apprehended fellow TikTok influencers Al’amin G-Fresh and Ashir Idris on similar allegations.
As of now, neither the EFCC nor Kunya’s legal representatives have released an official statement regarding the arrest.
