‘I’ve Been Sober for Three Months’ – Victony

Nigerian Afrobeats star, Anthony Ebuka Victor, popularly known as Victony, has opened up about his personal battles, revealing he has been sober for three months and is working to maintain that commitment.

The 23-year-old singer shared the update on social media, writing simply: “3 months sober, Glory,” signalling a turning point in his lifestyle choices.

Victony also reflected on how past struggles have impacted his formative years. “My troubles stole my youth,” he wrote in a separate post on X, formerly Twitter.

In 2021, the singer survived a tragic car accident that claimed one life and left three others injured. The incident forced him into a year-long recovery, during which he used a wheelchair. The near-death experience marked a pivotal moment in his career, with Victony rising to fame shortly after with the release of his hit track Holy Father featuring Mayorkun.

Speaking recently about his ongoing journey, Victony disclosed that he had never performed on stage without consuming alcohol but is aiming for a more authentic connection with fans during his Stubborn tour.

His honesty has sparked conversations about mental health, healing, and sobriety in the Nigerian music industry, with fans praising his transparency and growth.
