‘Man is Not Built to Sexually be with One Woman’ – 2Face Idibia
Renowned Nigerian singer Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Face or 2Baba, has reignited public debate on relationships and fidelity after declaring that it is unrealistic for a man to be sexually committed to only one woman.
The Afrobeats veteran made the statement during a candid conversation with media personality Nedu on a podcast, where he responded to questions about loyalty and his personal beliefs on monogamy.
“Let me speak for myself,” 2Face said. “A man is not built to sexually be with one woman. He can give his heart and love to one woman, but sexually, it’s not possible.”
His comments come just five months after publicly confirming his separation from longtime partner and actress Annie Macaulay-Idibia, a development that stirred intense reactions across social media and entertainment circles.
Shortly after announcing the split, the music icon was seen online with a new partner, Natasha Osawuru—further fuelling speculation about the nature of his relationships and long-standing rumours of infidelity.
Before their separation, Annie had on several occasions spoken publicly about challenges in their marriage, including claims that 2Face had fathered children with multiple women during their time together. The couple share two children, but 2Face reportedly has five other children from previous relationships.
The latest remarks have drawn mixed reactions online, with some critics accusing the singer of justifying infidelity, while others argue that he is simply expressing a controversial truth from his perspective.
2Face, regarded as one of the pioneers of modern Nigerian music, has rarely shied away from discussing personal matters in public. However, this particular statement has again placed him at the centre of debate on love, loyalty, and the societal expectations placed on men—especially those in the spotlight.
