New Balance 550 Set to Drop in “Sea Salt” Colorways for Fall 2025
New Balance is bringing a clean, understated touch to its classic 550 silhouette this Fall 2025 with the upcoming “Sea Salt” pack. The release will feature two fresh iterations of the retro basketball model, each blending neutral tones with subtle pops of color.
While the 550 no longer dominates the spotlight like it did in 2020, it continues to hold a steady spot in the brand’s lineup – even as newer silhouettes like the 2000 and 204L take the lead in defining New Balance’s next era.
Both “Sea Salt” 550s maintain the familiar blend of white leather and grey suede across the upper. Where the styles differ is in their accent shades: one version adds a soft blue touch to the tongue, collar, and logo detailing, while the other incorporates a gentle green. As the name suggests, the soles feature New Balance’s signature off-white “Sea Salt” tone, offering a vintage-inspired finish similar to Nike’s popular “Sail” color.
The “Sea Salt” pack is expected to hit shelves between July and September 2025, retailing at $110 per pair. With its versatile palette and nostalgic flair, this drop should appeal to fans looking for a timeless sneaker option heading into the cooler months.
