Phyno Fumes as Fan Berates Him for Featuring Hushpuppi on His Song
Nigerian rapper Phyno, born Chibuzor Azubike Nelson, recently addressed criticism following his decision to feature Hushpuppi on a track in his latest album Full Time Job.
Phyno faced online backlash after including Hushpuppi—now a convicted felon—in the song “Nwoke Esike,” where Hushpuppi delivers motivational quotes. Social media reactions quickly poured in, with many questioning the choice, including an X user who commented, “I still don’t understand what Phyno was trying to do on that track by bringing Hushpuppi to ‘motivate’ us.”
In response, Phyno fired back, saying, “Go and sleep if you don’t understand the game! If Young Thug or El Chapo were on a song, you’d be the first to play it…ngwere isi red!”
The collaboration also marks a turning point between Phyno and Hushpuppi, who had previously clashed online in 2017. Their past disagreement arose after Phyno advised Hushpuppi to stop flaunting his luxury lifestyle on social media, which followed Hushpuppi’s criticism of Phyno and Ice Prince for allegedly wearing counterfeit watches.
