Portable Begs Tinubu to Intervene in Legal Battle with Ogun State Government

Controversial Nigerian singer, Habeeb “Portable” Okikiola, has appealed to President Bola Tinubu to intervene in his ongoing legal tussle with the Ogun State government.

Portable, who is currently on the run, was arraigned alongside nine associates for allegedly assaulting officials from the Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development. The case, presided over by Magistrate Justice O.M. Somefun, saw his associates granted ₦5 million bail each, with sureties registered as bond agents. The case has been adjourned to March 17.

Speaking from hiding, Portable denied the allegations and pleaded for his associates’ release. In a viral video on Tuesday, he made a passionate appeal to Tinubu, urging the president to ask Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, to forgive him.

“President Tinubu, may you not cry over your children. Please help me beg Dapo Abiodun to forgive me. I am a government child. Federal government liability is a government child, please consider me as one of your own,” he said.

Meanwhile, his elder sister, Gbemisola, claimed that Portable’s actions were influenced by a spiritual spell cast by a relative.

The Ogun State government has yet to respond to his plea.
