Ray J Reveals He “Only Has Weeks to Live” After Heart Failure Diagnosis
American singer and reality TV star Ray J has sparked widespread concern after claiming that doctors have told him he has only weeks to live following a recent health crisis.
The 45-year-old entertainer, born Willie Norwood Jr., made the disclosure during a late-night livestream on Monday, January 27, shortly after speaking publicly about a recent hospitalisation for pneumonia and severe chest pains. During that earlier update, Ray J revealed that his heart was operating at just 25 per cent capacity.
In the emotional livestream, the artist told viewers that medical professionals had given him a limited time to live, describing the broadcast as his final one. He did not disclose the exact date of the diagnosis but said doctors estimated he had about three weeks left.
“This is my last stream,” he said, adding that he had been told his remaining time was “sooner rather than later.”
Ray J used the moment to thank fans, friends, and family members for their support over the years. He also paid tribute to his sister, Grammy Award-winning singer Brandy, acknowledging her support during difficult periods of his life.
At various points during the livestream, Ray J appeared visibly emotional and admitted he had been advised against drinking alcohol, though he suggested he was no longer concerned about the restriction given his condition.
The claims have since circulated widely on social media, prompting concern and speculation among fans, though no official medical statement has been released to independently confirm the diagnosis or prognosis.
