Camille Vasquez Disappointed at Those Still Labelling Her Interactions With Johnny Depp Inappropriate
Ever since publicly representing Hollywood actor and singer, Johnny Depp, Camille Vasquez’s name continues to weave its way in and out of the headlines, especially on the strength of her role as the lawyer who guided him into securing a celebrated win over American actress, Amber Heard in the high-profile defamation lawsuit.
During the trial, there were moments where Johnny Depp and Vasquez openly expressed their happiness to see certain aspects of the trial go their way with hugs whilst keeping it professional.
However, certain sections of the media were quick to read deeper meaning into this with some going as far as hinting that there was a romantic involvement between both Depp and Vasquez.
Camille Vasquez Bares Her Mind on Why She & Depp Made Several Physical Contact
In her interview with People Magazine maintained didn’t mince words when she said, “I guess it comes with the territory of being a woman just doing her job.”
She went on to explain why she still finds the misconceptions disappointing. She continued “It’s disappointing that certain outlets kind of ran with it or said that my interactions with Johnny-who is a friend and I’ve known and represented for four-and-a-half years now-that my interactions in any way were inappropriate or unprofessional. That’s disappointing to hear.”
On the physical side of their professional relationship, which sections of the media appeared to feast on, Vasquez said this was more about how she was raised and her culture.
“I care very deeply about my clients, and we have obviously become close,” she added. “But when I say we, I mean the entire team, and of course that includes Johnny. And, I’m Cuban and Colombian. I’m tactile. What do you want me to say? I hug everyone. And I’m not ashamed about that.”
