Nicki Minaj, Beyonce and Rihanna-7e8d2e58

Rihanna, Beyonce, Nicki Minaj, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber and Many More Banned From Several Countries

Are you aware that there are famous celebrities who have been banned from certain countries all over the world including countries like the United States, China, the United Kingdom, Japan and Russia among others.

Below are some of the countries that have banned specific celebrities from either entering the country, from performing or for other reasons altogether. Let’s have a look.

United States

Despite being associated with freedom and, in many cases, being very liberal, the United States has clashed with artists such as Cat Stevens, who converted to Islam and adopted the name Yusuf Islam, due to a possible link to terrorism. The rapper M.I.A., who has had problems with the government as a result of her activism for the oppressed peoples of the Middle East, has been in a similar situation.

Israel

In 2015, Israel’s northernmost coastal city, Nahariya, has issued a directive banning 14 songs from being played at a major city-sponsored summer youth event, including “‘Anaconda” by Trinidadian-born U.S. rapper Nicki Minaj and “Wiggle”‘ by Jason Derulo featuring Snoop Dogg.

Malaysia

Authorities canceled some Beyoncé concerts because her outfits were deemed “too provocative.” She, like Gwen Stefani, has been dubbed “obscene.” The Islamic Party censored Avril Lavigne’s punk pop in order to protect their youth, and the Black Eyed Peas were barred from performing after a beer brand sponsored their show because Islamic law prohibits the consumption of alcohol.

Abu Dhabi

Rihanna made a serious blunder when she “inappropriately” photographed herself in front of the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, earning her the title of “persona non grata” in Abu Dhabi.

China

China has been portrayed as one of the most difficult countries for artists to work in. Katy Perry is no longer welcome after waving a Taiwanese flag during a presentation, which enraged the leaders because the communist government of that country does not recognize it.

Lady Gaga and Selena Gomez sabotaged China’s goodwill by taking photos with the Dalai Lama. Miley Cyrus, on the other hand, has been labeled a racist after making up her eyes to resemble the population in question, and Justin Bieber and Jay-Z have been labeled as bad influences on young people.

Japan

When Paris Hilton flew to Tokyo for a fashion show in 2010, she was detained at Narita Airport. The singer and DJ was found to have a drug possession charge from years ago, and her visit to the city was prohibited.

Indonesia

In Indonesia, a veto was imposed on Lady Gaga because she is “a vulgar singer who sings in panties.” Even the leader of the Islamic Defense Front, Salim Alatas, warned that if she entered the country, her life could be in danger.

Russia

China and Russia both issued entry bans after Selena Gomez posted a photo of herself with the Dalai Lama on social media. She would also be barred from entering the latter country if she expressed unconditional support for the LGBT+ community.
