SHUSHU/TONG Deepens Balletcore Influence in New ASICS Collaboration
ASICS’ growing presence in high-fashion circles continues with a fresh collaboration that pushes its tech-runner heritage into more experimental territory. The brand has once again teamed up with Shanghai-based womenswear label SHUSHU/TONG, unveiling a new take on the ASICS GEL-Kinetic Fluent that leans fully into ballet-inspired design.
The partnership, which began with a lace-adorned reinterpretation of the same model, builds on the contrast that first caught the attention of fashion audiences: the marriage of ASICS’ performance-focused, archival aesthetics with SHUSHU/TONG’s softer, more romantic design language.
This latest edition heightens that juxtaposition by transforming the sneaker into a mule. The laces have been removed entirely and replaced with an oversized bow, amplifying the balletcore theme while preserving the GEL-Kinetic Fluent’s futuristic chrome structure and visible cushioning.
The new SHUSHU/TONG x ASICS GEL-Kinetic Fluent mule is set for release on December 5th through US retailers, with each colourway priced at $220.
