Snoop Dogg Coming to Instagram and Facebook as AI Chatbot
Snoop Dogg, the iconic rapper and entrepreneur, is once again making waves in the metaverse as he joins a growing list of celebrities, including Charlie D’Amelio, Tom Brady, and Paris Hilton, in the preliminary launch of AI chatbots on Facebook and Instagram. This exciting development comes as part of a broader effort to enhance user experiences on social media platforms.
Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Meta, the parent company of Facebook and Instagram, emphasized that this venture goes beyond merely answering user queries. It aims to deliver entertainment and facilitate meaningful connections among users.
In its initial phase, the AI chatbots will exclusively respond to text-based queries. Unfortunately, users won’t have the opportunity to hear Snoop Dogg’s distinctive voice or interact with his avatar just yet. However, Zuckerberg has confirmed that this feature is actively in development and is slated for release sometime in 2024.
Snoop Dogg has been steadily gaining prominence in the metaverse in recent years. Notably, a devoted fan paid a staggering $450,000 for virtual real estate “next door” to Snoop in the virtual reality realm last year.
Joining forces with established entities such as Adidas, Atari, and deadmau5, Snoop Dogg has been actively involved in creating his own interactive universe within The Sandbox. This Ethereum-based platform allows users to design and monetize online hangout spaces and gaming experiences. Named the “Snoopverse,” this virtual realm replicates his real-life mansion in Diamond Bar, California, where he intends to host private virtual concerts, parties, art gallery exhibitions, and more.
A noteworthy aspect of the Snoopverse is its potential for virtual landowners to build and profit from other residents’ visits, making it a lucrative investment for NFT collectors.
Snoop Dogg has been no stranger to the world of NFTs (Non-Fungible Tokens). Last April, he launched his “A Journey With The Dogg” NFT auction on Crypto.com, offering unique artwork celebrating his early career and an original track. In August, he collaborated with Def Jam co-founder Russell Simmons to curate and produce the “Masterminds of Hip Hop: An Exclusive NFT Collection,” paying homage to some of Hip Hop’s earliest pioneers.
With this latest foray into AI chatbots and the continued expansion of his presence in the metaverse, Snoop Dogg solidifies his position as a trailblazer in the intersection of music, technology, and virtual reality.
