Snoop Dogg Plays Cold-Blooded Killer in ‘The Big Payback’ Movie Trailer
Snoop Dogg, the iconic rapper and entertainer, has unveiled an enticing teaser trailer for his latest cinematic venture, “The Big Payback,” where he steps into the role of a ruthless assassin.
On Friday (September 8), the Doggfather took to Instagram to share this thrilling teaser, providing a glimpse of what’s to come. Notably, the film will be released under Snoop’s own banner, Snoopadelic Films. The teaser trailer also features the “Gin & Juice” maestro narrating the motivation behind his character’s cold-blooded actions.
“In a world full of Gods and monsters, the only way to cut off evil is at the root,” Snoop Dogg’s voice intones during the introduction. The camera then transitions to his character, depicted in a dimly lit room, casually enjoying a bowl of Snoop’s Hoopz cereal—an ingenious cross-branding opportunity—before unflinchingly eliminating his target.
As of now, specific details about the film’s release date remain undisclosed, and there’s uncertainty surrounding whether the production was concluded prior to the recent Writers’ Strike.
Certainly, this isn’t Snoop’s inaugural foray into the realm of acting. Over the years, he has graced the screen in various capacities, participating in both mainstream and independent cinematic projects. One of his memorable roles was in the 2004 film “Starsky & Hutch.”
In a resurfaced 2020 interview with the “All The Smoke” podcast hosted by Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson, Snoop Dogg shared an amusing anecdote from his time on the set with Vince Vaughn, one of his co-stars in “Starsky & Hutch.” Snoop recounted a scene where Vaughn was supposed to deliver a line, and Snoop’s character, Huggy Bear, would interject. However, things took an unexpected turn.
“We rehearsing, and in the scene, it says, well, Vince is gonna say a line, and then my character, Huggy Bear, is going to interrupt him,” Snoop explained. “And Vince is going to say ‘Hey! Don’t you interrupt me.’ The n-gga sayin’ his lines, I’m already doing my shit. The n-gga say something like ‘Hey, man.’ That n—a said, BOW! He slapped the dog shit outta me. He slapped the dog shit out of me. But the n-gga in me was finna punch him, right, but the actor in me, the actor in me was like … and I shrugged it off, and I went to my next line, and I did that shit and I killed it.”
Apart from his cinematic endeavours, Snoop Dogg has ventured into various successful Hollywood-inspired projects, including an ice cream brand inspired by his long-time friends Martha Stewart and Master P. His multifaceted career continues to be a source of fascination for fans worldwide.
