Sony Seeks Executive to Lead Push for PlayStation Games on Non-PlayStation Platforms, Including Xbox
Sony is looking to expand the reach of its PlayStation titles beyond its own consoles, according to a new job listing for a senior director of multiplatform and account management.
The position, which reports directly to a Sony vice president, will focus on shaping and executing a global strategy to bring PlayStation Studios games to platforms such as Steam, Epic Games Store, Nintendo, mobile devices – and even Microsoft’s Xbox.
The successful candidate will oversee commercial planning for PlayStation titles outside Sony hardware, with responsibilities including optimizing profitability, coordinating multiplatform strategies, and managing partnerships with rival platforms.
The move follows Sony’s recent announcement that Helldivers 2 will launch on Xbox in August, a rare cross-platform release for a PlayStation-published game.
While Sony has previously ported titles like Horizon Zero Dawn and God of War to PC, the job listing suggests the company is preparing a broader multiplatform strategy. It remains unclear whether flagship franchises such as The Last of Us or God of War could eventually come to Xbox.
The development mirrors Microsoft’s own approach, with Xbox titles including Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Gears of War, and Forza Horizon 5 already available on PlayStation 5. Earlier this year, analytics firm Circana reported that Forza Horizon 5 had become the best-selling game on Sony’s console in 2025.
Sony’s hiring move indicates a growing willingness to extend the PlayStation brand’s reach across competing platforms in pursuit of greater audience growth and revenue.
