Sylvester Stallone Unveiled as a Superhero in Samaritan Trailer | Watch Trailer
Amazon Prime Video has released the first trailer for their superhero movie Samaritan. The film stars veteran American actor Sylvester Stallone as a retired superhero who returns to help a young boy and fight crime after disappearing for 25 years.
The ‘Samaritan’ trailer opens with Stallone working as a garbage man in what looks like a dystopian future where violent crime has overrun this unnamed city.
However, it’s not long until Stallone reveals himself to be more than an elderly garbageman when he saves a young boy (Javon Walton) from a group of thugs, demonstrating his superpowers by tossing them into the air like they’re nothing.
This makes the young boy realize that he may have come across a superhero known as Samaritan, who went missing 25 years ago.
However, Stallone insists that Samaritan is dead and that he’s merely a garbageman. He seems almost convincing until he’s hit by a speeding car and survives fully intact.
The Samaritan trailer continues with Stallone explaining to this young boy that “things start to fall apart when you stop caring” and he says that he stopped caring a long time ago.
However, he may be forced out of retirement when he becomes the target of a vicious criminal named Cyrus (Pilou Asbæk) who’s convinced he’s hiding something.
The rest of the Samaritan trailer features Stallone dispatching more thugs as well as using a car to shield himself and the boy from an explosion.
Samaritan will premiere on Amazon Prime Video on August 26th, 2022.
