Tesla Cybertruck Prototype Encounters Breakdown During Testing

As Tesla’s anticipated production launch of the Cybertruck draws near, the electric automaker’s testing program has brought an unexpected incident to light. A Cybertruck release candidate was found stranded on the side of the road, hinting at potential technical challenges that the company is ironing out before the start of deliveries.

Tesla has been extensively testing the Cybertruck in various conditions, including suspension tests on its California test track and cold weather trials in New Zealand. CEO Elon Musk has mentioned that the electric pickup truck is undergoing its final validation phase before customer deliveries commence, which is expected to be around the end of September.

Several Cybertruck release candidates have been observed undergoing tests on California roads, and recently, one of these prototypes was seen immobilized on the side of the road. A witness named Wayne spotted the vehicle near the Interstate 280 El Monte exit in Los Altos Hills. A Tesla employee was spotted working beneath the truck’s hood.

However, by the time the witness looped back to the location, the employee had concealed the Cybertruck and left it behind, suggesting that a breakdown had occurred, and Tesla needed to retrieve the prototype.

It’s important to note that encountering issues during testing is not unusual for new vehicles. Identifying potential problems and addressing them during the testing phase contributes to enhancing the reliability of the vehicle during production.

This particular Cybertruck prototype, indicated by its covering wrap, is likely a release candidate. The images of the vehicle provide a glimpse underneath its structure, revealing refined components and part fittings – a positive sign for a release candidate undergoing testing and validation.

Tesla continues to work diligently to ensure the Cybertruck meets the highest standards before it enters the market. The incident serves as a reminder that thorough testing and addressing any technical glitches are crucial steps in delivering a reliable and successful product to customers.
