Tiffany Haddish Officially Charged with DUI in Beverly Hills Incident

Renowned comedian and actor Tiffany Haddish is now facing official charges related to the DUI incident she encountered over the Thanksgiving weekend in Beverly Hills.

The L.A. District Attorney’s Office reviewed the case and has decided to charge Haddish with driving under the influence, specifically for operating a vehicle with a .08 per cent blood alcohol concentration (BAC). The incident unfolded when Haddish was found asleep in the middle of the road with her engine running on Black Friday.

During a subsequent performance at the Laugh Factory in Long Beach, Haddish addressed the incident indirectly, playfully connecting it to her prayers for a man with a job. While not explicitly admitting to the DUI, she humorously shared, “I had prayed to God to send me a man with a job, preferably in a uniform. God answered my prayers. God is real.”

However, the comedian later acknowledged the gravity of the situation and expressed her commitment to seeking help. In an interview with ET, she stated, “This will never happen again. I’m going to get some help so I can learn balance and boundaries.”

This is not the first time Haddish has faced legal consequences for a DUI. In January 2022, she was arrested for a similar incident when found asleep at the wheel. On The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, she humorously addressed the situation, again mentioning her prayers for a man in a uniform.

Despite the legal issues, Haddish has faced challenges beyond the courtroom. She was previously accused and sued for allegedly grooming and sexually abusing two minors in comedic skits featuring children in suggestive situations. Haddish later clarified that the skits were meant to be comedic but acknowledged their inappropriateness. The lawsuit was subsequently dismissed, with the claimant expressing a change of perspective and stating, “We wish Tiffany the best and are glad that we can all put this behind us.”
