Uche Ogbodo Blames Men for Majority of Failed Marriages
Nollywood actress Uche Ogbodo has sparked debate online after sharing her views on the causes of divorce, claiming that men are largely responsible for most failed marriages.
In a post shared on her Instagram page, the actress argued that men account for “95 per cent” of marital breakdowns. According to her, many unions collapse due to neglect, infidelity, emotional mistreatment and betrayal by husbands.
She suggested that a lack of accountability within relationships and society at large has allowed such behaviour to persist, contributing to the high rate of separation.
The comments have generated mixed reactions on social media, with some users agreeing with her perspective while others described the claim as one-sided.
Ogbodo, who is currently in her second marriage, tied the knot with Bobby Maris in October 2023. Her first marriage to Norway-based football agent Ato Ubby in 2013 ended less than a year after it began.
The actress has often spoken candidly about relationships and family life, and her latest remarks have once again placed her at the centre of conversations around marriage dynamics in Nigeria.
