Johnny Depp vs Amber Heard - Live trial Updates 1-a4f349b4

What Happens if Johnny Depp Loses His Trial Against Amber Heard?

As the world awaits the verdict of the legal battle between enstranged celebrity couple, Johnny Depp and Amber Heard, there are serious implication for both parties regardless of how the pendulum of the verdict swings.

The trial eventually came to an end after almost two months of legal proceeding and and court visits in Fairfax, Virginia.

The trial began on 11th April after Depp filed a legal action against Heard for defamation on the heels of an article she wrote in the Washington Post in 2018 where she claimed she was a victim of domestic violence during her relationship with Depp.

Before we delve into what happens if Depp loses the case, we should point out the fact that while Depp sued Heard for $50 million, she countersued him for $100 million.

According to Marca, if Depp wins the trial, Heard will have to pay him that amount, or failing that, the amount established by the jury if it takes into account compensation for damages.

However, if he is the one who loses, he will have to pay the counterclaim filed by his ex-partner, which amounts to double: 100 million dollars.

Depp would lose almost his entire fortune. The amounts that are being considered by both parties could leave the actors in a very dangerous financial situation.

According to Celebrity Net Worth, Depp’s fortune amounts to 150 million dollars, while Heard’s is 12 million dollars.
