Wizkid, Burna Boy And Asake To Headline Afro Nation 2026 In Portugal
Organisers of Afro Nation have confirmed Afrobeats heavyweights Wizkid, Burna Boy and Asake as the main headliners for the 2026 edition of the global music festival in Portugal.
The announcement was made via the festival’s official social media channels, with organisers describing the lineup as a blend of established African stars and fast-rising international acts.
Afro Nation 2026 is scheduled to run from Friday, July 3 to Sunday, July 5 at Praia da Rocha Beach in Portimão, a coastal location that has become synonymous with the festival’s vibrant atmosphere.
Burna Boy, Nigeria’s Grammy-winning artist known for fusing Afrobeat with dancehall and global pop influences, will headline the opening day on July 3. He will be joined by South African singer Tyla, whose rapid rise in the Amapiano scene has earned her international recognition.
Asake, one of Nigeria’s most dominant contemporary artists, is billed as the headliner for July 4, bringing his high-energy mix of Afrobeats, street pop and melodic hooks to the festival stage. Wizkid will close the event on July 5, marking his return as one of Afro Nation’s most anticipated performers.
Beyond the headline acts, the 2026 lineup features a broad mix of global talent. American R&B star Kehlani and US rapper Gunna are listed as special guests, adding cross-genre appeal to the event. Several Nigerian artists, including Olamide, Young John, Darkoo, Wande Coal and Mavo, are also set to perform, underscoring Africa’s growing influence on the global music scene.
Festival organisers said early-access ticket sales will begin on February 5, ahead of a wider public release.
Launched in Portugal in 2019 by The Malachite Group, Afro Nation has grown into one of the world’s leading celebrations of Afrobeats, Amapiano, R&B and African culture. In addition to music, the festival highlights African fashion, food and lifestyle, drawing fans from across the African diaspora.
Since its debut, Afro Nation has expanded to cities including Accra, Miami, Detroit and Puerto Rico. Previous editions have featured headline performances from global stars such as Davido, Megan Thee Stallion, 50 Cent, Chris Brown and Nicki Minaj.
