Xbox Console Prices Rise by Up to €200 and £170 Across Europe and the UK
Xbox console prices have officially increased across Europe and the UK, with some models now costing up to €200 and £170 more than before.
Microsoft announced in June that it would raise the prices of its Xbox Series X and Series S consoles from 1 August, initially revealing only the increases for the US market. With the new pricing now in effect, the full extent of the hikes in Europe and the UK has become clear.
Europe Sees Increases of Up to €200
The biggest price increases affect the 1TB models.
- Xbox Series S (512GB): €499.99 (previously €349.99)
- Xbox Series S (1TB): €599.99 (previously €399.99)
- Xbox Series X Digital (1TB): €749.99 (previously €549.99)
- Xbox Series X Disc (1TB): €799.99 (previously €599.99)
The 1TB versions have increased by €200, while the 512GB models are now €150 more expensive.
UK Prices Jump by Up to £170
British gamers are also facing substantial increases.
- Xbox Series S (512GB): £429.99 (previously £299.99)
- Xbox Series S (1TB): £519.99 (previously £349.99)
- Xbox Series X Digital (1TB): £619.99 (previously £449.99)
- Xbox Series X Disc (1TB): £669.99 (previously £499.99)
The 1TB models have risen by £170, while the 512GB versions now cost £130 more.

The latest US pricing is as follows:
- Xbox Series S (512GB): $499.99 (previously $399.99)
- Xbox Series S (1TB): $599.99 (previously $449.99)
- Xbox Series X Digital (1TB): $749.99 (previously $599.99)
- Xbox Series X Disc (1TB): $799.99 (previously $649.99)
Xbox Prices Continue to Climb
This marks Microsoft’s third round of Xbox console price increases, following two separate hikes last year.
As a result, the Xbox Series X Disc Edition now costs $300 more than it did when it launched in 2020, while the Xbox Series S has become 50% more expensive than its original launch price.
Microsoft Blames Component Costs
When announcing the increases in June, Microsoft attributed the decision to ongoing supply chain pressures affecting the consumer electronics industry.
The company said:
“The current components crisis”
continues to affect production costs across the sector.
It added:
“We hoped another price increase would not be necessary, and we have spent the last several months working with suppliers on options.”
However, Microsoft said rising hardware costs made the increases unavoidable.
“Unfortunately, console storage and memory prices have increased by more than 2.5x, and we expect another doubling by the fall of 2027.”
Sony Also Raised PlayStation Prices
Microsoft is not the only console manufacturer to increase prices this year.
In April, Sony raised the prices of its PlayStation 5 consoles.
The PS5 Digital Edition increased by $100 to $599.99, £519.99, and €599.99, while the premium PS5 Pro rose by $150 to $899.99, £789.99, and €899.99.
The latest increases from both Microsoft and Sony reflect growing cost pressures across the gaming hardware industry as manufacturers continue to grapple with rising component prices.
