21 Savage Unveils New Song for Biopic Trailer as ‘American Dream’ Film Teases Intriguing Life Story

21 Savage has released a new track to accompany the trailer for his upcoming biopic, “American Dream: The 21 Savage Story.” The rapper recently shared the trailer featuring Donald Glover and Caleb McLaughlin from Stranger Things portraying different stages of 21 Savage’s life.

In the trailer, Savage raps about his past from an interrogation room, with McLaughlin playing a younger version of the artist. The scenes depict pivotal moments in 21 Savage’s life, including his experiences in school, facing bullying, navigating the streets of Atlanta, and meeting Metro Boomin, who played a significant role in developing the rapper’s stage name.

The biopic, set to hit theatres on Independence Day (July 4), showcases 21 Savage’s journey from his early struggles to entering the rap industry. The accompanying soundtrack, featuring music from 21 Savage, is scheduled for release on Friday (January 12).

Born Shéyaa Bin Abraham-Joseph in the UK, 21 Savage immigrated to the U.S. with his family at the age of seven, settling in Atlanta. His citizenship came under scrutiny when he was arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents in February 2019. The immigration charges were delayed due to a criminal case involving controlled substance and weapons charges, which has since been dropped, clearing the way for the resolution of his immigration status.

Despite the legal challenges, 21 Savage made a triumphant return to his birthplace in November for his first hometown show at London’s O2 Arena, marking a significant moment in his career and personal journey.
