Doja Cat Becomes First Female Rapper with Two Solo Songs in Billboard Hot 100’s Top 10

Doja Cat is ringing in 2024 with a remarkable achievement, solidifying her place in history as the first woman in rap to secure two solo songs in the Billboard Hot 100’s Top 10 simultaneously.

Surging up the chart this week, “Agora Hills” climbed from 35 to an impressive No. 10, while “Paint the Town Red” made an even more significant leap, soaring from No. 29 to claim the fourth spot. This accomplishment marks a groundbreaking moment for Doja Cat, recognized by Chart Data.

Hailing from Los Angeles, Doja Cat now boasts a total of nine Top 10 singles. Her journey began with 2020’s “Say So,” which not only marked her first Top 10 but also secured her debut at No. 1. The subsequent hits include her 2020 feature on Ariana Grande’s “34 + 35” (No. 2), 2021’s “Kiss Me More” with SZA (No. 3), and her 2022 feature on Post Malone’s “I Like You” (No. 3).

Other chart-toppers in Doja Cat’s repertoire include 2021’s “Woman” and “Need To Know” peaking at No. 7 and No. 8, respectively, 2023’s “Vegas” reaching No. 10, and the latest addition, “Agora Hills.”

The latter is a recent single from Doja Cat’s Scarlet album, released in September, and is currently being showcased during her inaugural arena tour across the U.S. and Europe.

Excitement around Doja Cat continues to build, with rumors swirling about her headlining at Coachella 2024 alongside Tyler, The Creator, and Lana Del Rey. According to reports from Hits Daily Double, the “Juicy” rapper is finalizing her contract for the highly anticipated festival.

Reflecting on her journey, Doja Cat’s hit “Paint the Town Red” secured its place as her second No. 1 song last fall, dominating the charts for three non-consecutive weeks starting in September. Despite initially finding the song “cheesy,” the artist strategically incorporated it into her album, recognizing its potential as a hit.

As her popularity continues to soar, Doja Cat remains dynamic in her creative approach, hinting at a gradual shift towards moodier vibes in her future projects.
