2Pac: Unseen Photo and Video Evidence From Murder Case Surfaces
Never-before-seen photos and video footage from the night of 2Pac’s fatal shooting have been revealed, shedding new light on the infamous murder case. These pieces of evidence were recently made public and were presented to a Las Vegas grand jury during the lead-up to the arrest of Duane “Keefe D” Davis.
The images depict previously unseen angles of the black BMW sedan in which 2Pac was travelling when he was targeted in the fatal drive-by shooting. The vehicle exhibits numerous bullet holes on its exterior, with the front passenger door and front windshield also bearing bullet damage. The graphic evidence includes four photos from 2Pac’s autopsy, one of which offers a close-up view of a bullet wound.
The newly unearthed video shows 2Pac and Suge Knight leaving the MGM Grand in Las Vegas following a violent altercation with a group of Crips, among whom was the alleged shooter, Orlando “Baby Lane” Anderson.
These developments mark significant progress in the 27-year-old murder case since the arrest of Duane “Keefe D” Davis on September 29. It was the first time that charges had been filed in connection with 2Pac’s murder.
Earlier reports suggested that a witness had told the grand jury that it was Deandre “Big Dre” Smith, not Orlando Anderson, who shot 2Pac. Both Smith and Anderson are no longer alive.
Detectives investigating the case believe that Smith was seated next to Anderson in the car from which the drive-by shooting took place, while Keefe D and another individual named Terrence Brown were seated in the front of the vehicle. Keefe D confessed to passing the murder weapon to Anderson, who was his nephew.
However, a witness disputed this theory, stating, “When [Davis] passed the firearm to Orlando, Orlando didn’t have a clear shot. Big Dre is six-six. At this time he’s 370, 400 [pounds]. He’s big. And you’re not going to be able to lean over a big guy like that and get — I mean, my time of knowing things, doing — you’re not going to reach over like that because shells would have been popping all in Big Dre’s face and all kind of stuff. He can’t bend down or anything, he’s too big.”
Suge Knight also supported this claim and asserted that Orlando Anderson was not the shooter. He said, “I never had nothing bad to say about Orlando because […] he wasn’t the shooter [..] It wasn’t Anderson, so that’s all I got to say about that part.”
However, retired LAPD detective Greg Kading, who has intimate knowledge of the case, refuted the notion that Deandre Smith was the shooter, describing it as fundamentally “wrong.” He emphasized that Keefe D had consistently identified Orlando Anderson as the shooter during police interviews, even though he had the opportunity to falsely implicate Smith instead.
Kading explained, “When Keefe D sits down and he’s presented with these proffer sessions [in 2009], he says it was Orlando, and he says it multiple times: ‘I gave the gun to Orlando.’ Now, he could have easily lied and said it was Dre and avoided throwing his own nephew under the bus. Throwing his own nephew under the bus cost him a lot within the family.”
He also highlighted the gang dynamics involved, noting that Orlando Anderson’s role was to pull the trigger, given his reputation as a shooter and the need to avenge the beating he had received from 2Pac and his entourage earlier.
The revelations surrounding the case continue to spark debates and discussions about the circumstances surrounding 2Pac’s murder.
