50 Cent Scores Legal Victory In Multi-Million Dollar Wiretapping Case
Rap mogul 50 Cent has secured a significant legal victory in a multi-million dollar wiretapping case. Earlier this week, a judge dismissed a $4 million lawsuit filed against the G-Unit founder by Michael Caruso. The lawsuit alleged that 50 Cent had illegally recorded a conversation in Caruso’s office and subsequently provided the recording to his legal team.
Judge Melissa A. Crane ruled in favour of 50 Cent, citing that Caruso had waited too long to file the complaint. “These claims are time-barred. Caruso has known about the fact of the recording since 2021 and has been on inquiry notice as to who made the recording since that time,” Judge Crane stated. “It is now 2024. The statute of limitations is two years. Hence, the claim is time-barred.”
This legal triumph marks the second courtroom win for 50 Cent this month. Earlier in August, he successfully avoided a $1 billion lawsuit brought by former drug lord Cory “Ghost” Holland. Holland had accused 50 Cent of using his life story as the basis for the popular TV series “Power” without permission. The judge dismissed all three of Holland’s legal claims, which included allegations of harassment and failure by Lionsgate and Starz to protect him from threats allegedly made by 50 Cent and his associates.
These victories come just ahead of 50 Cent’s headline appearance at Invest Fest in Atlanta, scheduled for August 24-25. The event will feature a star-studded lineup, including Steve Stoute, T.I., Wyclef Jean, will.i.am, Zaytoven, Stephen A. Smith, and Lauren London.
Troy Millings, co-founder of Earn Your Leisure, told TMZ that choosing 50 Cent as a headliner was an easy decision, describing him as embodying “the powerful blend of culture and business.”
