ASICS Extends Winter Line-Up With New GORE-TEX “Black Pepper” GEL-Nimbus 10.1
ASICS is doubling down on cold-weather performance with another GORE-TEX-equipped version of the GEL-Nimbus 10.1, adding a bold “Black Pepper” colourway to its growing winter roster.
The outdoors-inspired “gorpcore” trend continues to thrive as temperatures drop, and ASICS is leaning into the moment. After debuting the GEL-Nimbus 10.1 in an icy white-and-blue waterproof finish earlier this season, the brand is now introducing a darker, more rugged look designed for wet and unpredictable conditions.
The latest release pairs the upper of the original 2008 GEL-Nimbus 10 with the popular GEL-Kayano 14 sole unit. This edition features a black mesh base layered with gold accents, while subtle maroon hits appear on the lace loops. Underfoot, khaki-toned GEL capsules sit within a matching midsole, completing a muted but premium winter palette.

Although visually similar to the standard model, the GORE-TEX version carries new branding on the heel and lateral side, along with a water-resistant sock liner built to keep feet dry across harsh terrain and changing weather.
ASICS has been pushing the GEL-Nimbus 10.1 heavily throughout the year with collaborations and steady general releases, positioning it as a key tech runner in its current lineup. The new weather-ready “Black Pepper” edition is expected to release soon on the ASICS website for $210 USD.
