Nike Introduces “Platinum Violet” Colourway for Air Max Sunder
Nike has unveiled a new “Platinum Violet” edition of the Air Max Sunder as signs grow that the silhouette may be nearing the end of its current retail run.
Originally reintroduced as a women’s-exclusive model, the Air Max Sunder has been on shelves for close to two years. The latest release follows the shoe’s familiar design language, pairing a predominantly black base with soft pink tones across its technical upper. The look is reinforced by a black and silver protective mudguard that wraps around the shoe, while a fully black outsole completes the design in line with the Sunder’s original construction.

First launched in 1999, the Air Max Sunder was widely considered ahead of its time, thanks to its futuristic and performance-driven build. Its recent return aligned with renewed interest in technical footwear, but outside of its debut colourways and a well-received collaboration with Kids of Immigrants, the model has remained relatively low-profile.
The “Platinum Violet” colourway has already started appearing on Nike’s online store in parts of the Asia-Pacific region. A wider release, including the United States, is expected in early 2026, with a retail price set at $190.
