Momodu Confirms Talks to Resolve Davido-Sophia Custody Dispute
Nigerian publisher and politician Dele Momodu has said discussions are underway with the Adeleke family to resolve the child custody dispute involving Afrobeats star Davido and Sophia Momodu.
Momodu, who is the publisher of Ovation Magazine and an uncle to Sophia Momodu, disclosed this while responding to public calls urging him to intervene in the ongoing legal disagreement between the two parties.
The custody battle, which has drawn widespread attention on social media, centres on the couple’s daughter. The matter took a new turn recently after Davido withdrew his custody suit. The withdrawal followed references made in court by Sophia Momodu’s legal team to the circumstances surrounding the death of Davido’s late son, Ifeanyi Adeleke.
Addressing the situation, Dele Momodu said efforts were being made privately to calm tensions and reach an amicable settlement between both families. He noted that the discussions were aimed at resolving the matter without further public conflict.
Momodu, who spoke while in Liberia to commiserate with former vice president Jewel Howard-Taylor over the loss of her child, appealed for patience and prayers, expressing confidence that the dispute would be resolved.
“Everything is going to be alright. We are working behind the scenes,” he said.
